We’re one of the fastest growing digital agencies in the UK, but we wouldn’t be where we are without our people. We want to show the world what it’s really like to work at Somo, who we are, and what makes us tick. Launching today is our new Meet the Team series, where you’ll hear more about Somo's culture from the insider perspective. So, without further ado – meet Simon, our Senior Product Manager.
1. Your typical day at Somo:
I work as a Senior Product Manager here at Somo, and currently managing three web and mobile products.
My typical day? It usually starts with stand-ups for all of the products I manage – we take 15 minutes to run through the team and check up on progress. I then sit down with our development teams and work on any blockers or problems they have encountered. Occasionally, this is followed by a tech catch-up to look into new technology that we could use at Somo or for any new projects that we have coming up.
The rest of the day is all about the meetings – we talk about our future products, current product features or agile ceremonies. There are tons of challenges to get through and everyone works hard to get great products out to the market. But we make sure that we play as hard as we work.
2. What do you love most about Somo?
I love the work that we’re involved in and the people here. Everyone is a team, everyone is working towards the same goal and there’s a real sense of direction with the products here. The work is so diverse, there’s always something interesting going on and you can really dive into the industries you love. This makes working here extremely fun and every day is a new challenge!
3. Three interesting facts about you:
1. I play drums, guitar and piano
2. I drive on track days and aim to compete in amateur racing
3. I’m the co-founder of several businesses on the side
Somo ranked #2 in medium-sized agencies in this year’s Campaign Live’s Best Places to Work 2019 ranking. Want to join our team? Check out our current job openings or drop us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org
