We’re absolutely delighted to announce that our recent work for Audi UK has scooped yet another prestigious award! After being selected as Highly Commended at The Drum Design Awards earlier this year, the project has now won BIMA for Best Use of Digital in the automotive sector.
The winning project was a complete redesign and build of the site, driven by a purposeful change in digital strategy and an ambition to provide a best-in-class digital experience for Audi’s customers.
Audi UK needed to bring its digital presence up to par with its reputation as a premium auto manufacturer. The automotive giant approached Somo to redesign and build its website, focusing primarily on the product exploration journey. Our research showed that 75% of customers found the level of information overwhelming and confusing. The bounce rate was high. The conversion rate was insignificant. Customers struggled to discover the information they need to make the right decision. And we needed to change it.
Our objective was to deliver a seamless user experience that allowed customers to better understand Audi’s model range, facilitated easier model comparison, and improved traffic to key areas of the site. With a collaborative, agile approach to delivering the new site, Audi.co.uk was crafted around an aesthetic that sets the site apart through its minimalist and geometric approach, harmonising the known customer pain-points with best practice, on-brand, bold design.
